Madballs toys!

I remember from back in my childhood, one of the comics I really loved reading was Madballs. Along with Beano, Bananaman and The Bash Street Kids, Madballs made up the bulk of comics I read as a kid, long before I started reading Jim Lee's X-Men and other comics of the early 90s.

I can't remember whether I watched the cartoon or not, but I absolutely loved the Madballs! Their adventures was just so fun to read about. I really wish I could get old back issues...or for them to bring out new issues!

Guess I'll just have to make do with new Madballs toys!

RELEASE DATE: Fall/January 2008

The American Greetings corporation has brought us many family-friendly cartoon characters: Care Bears, Popples, Strawberry Shortcake and…Madballs? Yes, America’s favorite severed heads were created by the same company as the Get Along Gang—and now they’re back! Basic Fun will be releasing those wacky ’80s staples (with updated designs by Art Asylum) in two assortments—Classic Madballs and Madballs Sicko. “What do the Madballs have to do with Michael Moore’s documentary on health care?” we hear you ask. Nothing, really, although the Sickos should probably get that oozing bubble of brain matter checked out. Slobulus, Skull Face, Bash Brain and Dustbrain will be available as both Sickos and Classics, while Horn Head, Repvile and Screamin’ Meemie will be Classic only. Look for them to bounce onto specialty shelves this fall and into the mass market next year.
