[PHOTO GALLERY] "Wanted"

Phew...there's a lot today!

So many comic book movies in 2008! The Dark Knight, Iron Man, Hulk, Hellboy 2...and even Wanted!

Now THIS I certainly want to watch on the big screen. It will hopefully be FANTASTIC!

Wizard Universe posted up a mini-photo gallery of the movie and also had yet another interview with Mark Millar. And I must say, the pics are looking fabulous, though I still have grievances about Angelina Jolie being cast!

With Angelina Jolie armed and dangerous in an adaptation of Mark Millar’s Top Cow comic, ‘Wanted’ might be 2008’s most explosive movie

The way Mark Millar tells it, the “Wanted” movie will leave audiences wanting more.

The action-packed film, loosely based on Millar and J.G. Jones’ Top Cow comic miniseries of the same name, is the story of a pathetic office drone named Wesley Gibson who learns his recently murdered father was one of the deadliest assassins that ever lived. Now, for Wesley to stay alive, he must continue the legacy by becoming the fearsome assassin his father was. And while you won’t be seeing the world run by supervillains and characters named Mr. Rictus, F--kwit, Sh--head or other superpowered characters from the comic, Millar has given the film his enthusiastic seal of approval, especially with a cast that includes Angelina Jolie, Morgan Freeman and Terence Stamp. Rising stars James McAvoy (“The Last King of Scotland”) and Common (“American Gangster”) complete the cast.

In anticipation of the Universal Pictures release on March 28, 2008, check out this gallery of new images from the movie!

In “Wanted,” Angelina Jolie stars as Fox, a character she signed on to play after screenwriter Dean Georgaris (“Lara Croft Tomb Raider: The Cradle of Life”) rewrote the script to tailor the part for her.

Morgan Freeman stars as Sloan, the leader of the Fraternity, an organization of highly skilled assassins called “Weavers.”

According to Wanted creator Mark Millar, James McAvoy turned in a “powerful performance” as Wesley Gibson.

Rapper-turned-actor Common plays the Gunsmith, a weapons expert. His character was created specifically for the movie.

Fox and the other Weavers don’t have superpowers like in the comic, but they do possess a special ability that gives them greater proficiency with weapons.

While Millar was hoping to go home with juicy stories about meeting Jolie on set, the creator said “she couldn’t have been nicer, warmer or friendlier.”

Thomas Kretschmann plays Cross, a former Fraternity assassin who’s gone rogue and sets his sights on Gibson.

As in the comic, Gibson is a ne’er-do-well schlub who suddenly discovers he has an innate ability to become an exceptional killer.

In one of the film’s early scenes, Fox informs Gibson of his legacy and warns he is a target—then has to protect him when a killer shows up to assassinate him!

In the factory headquarters of the Fraternity, special looms spin out fabrics bearing the names of people the Weavers must kill in order to maintain balance in the world.

Fox and Gibson’s relationship at the outset is cool at best but things heat up when they face a common threat.

In “Wanted,” expect to see some of the same groundbreaking special effects that director Timur Bekmambetov utilized in his previous films “Night Watch” and “Day Watch.”
